- Check the water level against the normal mark before starting anything else.
- Note overflow, flooding, brown water, or debris that entered the pool.
- Write down anything that looks different before moving a valve or pressing a reset.
When to Call Owner / Pro
- Water level is low or rising fast.
- A breaker trips, a pump will not start, or anything smells like gas or burning.
- A valve setting is unclear, undocumented, or seems to need a change.
- The water is unsafe, green, overflowing, or the cleanup needs chemicals you do not already have written down.
