Poolometer targets WCAG 2.2 AA and is being improved continuously. This page describes implemented support and current verification limits; it is not a certification claim.

Safari Users: Enable Full Keyboard Access

Safari disables Tab navigation to buttons/links by default. To enable it:

  1. Open Safari → Settings → Advanced tab
  2. Check: "Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage"

Skip Links

Press Tab when a page loads to reveal skip links that let you jump directly to:

  • Main content (skip repetitive navigation)
  • Navigation menu

Why this matters: Skip links save time for keyboard and screen reader users by allowing them to bypass repetitive content.

Screen Reader Support

Shared components are designed for semantic structure, labeled controls, and useful state announcements.

  • Semantic HTML: Pages use landmarks and native elements where the shared layout and controls provide them.
  • ARIA Labels: Icon-only and specialized controls require localized accessible names.
  • Form Labels: Shared form fields associate labels with inputs and expose validation feedback.
Current verification: Automated browser coverage checks critical flows and mobile fit. A complete independent screen-reader audit has not been recorded.

Visual Accessibility

Poolometer includes a reduced-motion stylesheet and expects new motion to respect the system preference.

Focus Indicators
Shared controls provide visible keyboard focus. Changed screens are reviewed for missing or obscured focus states.
Dark Mode
The interface follows the system color preference and maintains dedicated dark-theme tokens.
Text Scaling
Critical screens are expected to remain usable at 200% browser zoom; changed layouts require focused verification.
High Contrast
Focus outlines are strengthened for increased-contrast preferences. Platform behavior still requires manual review.
